A project becomes binding only when Merit Data and the customer sign or otherwise accept a written agreement, statement of work, purchase order, data license or other commercial document.
Samples are for review only.
Public sample previews, screenshots, videos, manifests, descriptions and technical examples are provided to help prospective customers evaluate possible data configurations.
You may not, without written permission from Merit Data:
- Download, copy, scrape, extract, reproduce or redistribute sample data or preview materials.
- Use sample materials to train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark AI, robotics, machine-learning or computer-vision models.
- Remove attribution, watermarks, metadata, notices or access controls.
- Share controlled samples outside the approved review group.
- Represent samples as your own data or as data licensed to you for production use.
Use the website responsibly.
You agree not to:
- Use the website for unlawful, misleading, fraudulent or harmful purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, server, sample files, forms or related systems.
- Interfere with, overload, scan, test or disrupt the website or any connected service.

Customer projects require separate written terms.
Any paid pilot, custom collection, dataset delivery, annotation project, exclusive license, non-exclusive license, resale permission, geographic collection, supplier engagement or data transfer must be governed by separate written terms.
Separate project terms may include:
- Statement of work, quote, order form or purchase order.
- NDA, MSA, data license, contributor release or supplier agreement.
- Accepted data definition, rejection rules and QC process.
- Permitted use, training rights, evaluation rights and redistribution restrictions.
- Delivery format, storage method, retention, deletion and support obligations.
If there is a conflict between these website Terms and a signed project agreement, the signed project agreement will control for that project.
Do not submit confidential information unless a secure process is agreed.
Website forms, WhatsApp links and regular email may not be appropriate for highly confidential, sensitive, regulated or proprietary information.
If a project requires confidential information, customer data, robot logs, proprietary model details, private datasets, sensitive locations or regulated data, the parties should agree to an NDA and secure transfer workflow before sharing those materials.

Project data privacy, contributor consent, PII handling and dataset access controls should be addressed in the applicable project agreement where relevant.
